Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 07, 2020

S. Otte Apps ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Dojo App/Sesnapp (and other Apps granting access to our network) (the "Service").

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service/App.

We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We use your Personal Information for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

1. Informations collected by us

Informations, which are collected by us, can be separated into the following categories:

1.1 Informations you gave us

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your email address, your profile name or profile picture ("Personal Information").
Your email address is only used for authentication yourself with multiple devices and will never be shown or used inside the app.
Your profile informations will be shared with all groups/organizations you enlist and to all people you are sending friend requests or allow to scan your invitation code. As long as you don't explicitly share your profile in one of the above ways, your informations are stored encrypted and not readable by us or a third party. (See encryption section)

All data you enter into the app will be saved by us and be forwarded to the declared receivers. All of this data will be encrypted with asynchronous encryption and is therefore not readable by us or a third party except it is explicitly declared as a public information.

Public informations you give to us (which are very rare), will not be encrypted and could be read in case of a security breach.

1.2 Automatically collected informations

While using the app, we collect some usage information, which will help improving the app. These informations are completely anonymous. The informations include, but are not limited to, usage timestamps, error logs, app crashes, phone type and the version of your operating system.

1.3 Informations collected by a third party

As we use a Microsoft cloud service for authentication, they will collect and store personal data from you (Email address).

2. How we process and share your informations

We may access and use the data we collect as necessary to (a) provide and maintain the service, (b) to solve problems and issues, (c) to improve our service, (d) to detect and prevent misusage of our service or for analysis.

A few examples:

3. Where we store your data

While in the beta stage all your data is stored on our server at our business location.
While in the beta or some time later, this storage will move to the Microsoft Azure cloud, to deliver a better user experience.

For now, only some technical informations are stored on your devices, like your account login. It is planned for the future to implement a caching functionality.

4. Encryption

We ensure the privacy of your data by using an asynchronous encryption algorithm, where every user has a private/public key pair. Every time, when informations will be shared, they are encrypted with the public key of the receivers and only they can decrypt the information with their private key.

WARNING: Your private key is only stored on your devices and if it is lost, your data can never be restored.
Use the backup functionality to backup your private key.

If not otherwise described as a public information all type of content will be stored encrypted:

Above mentioned informations will be encrypted before sending the informations to our servers.

Despite the content of your data, there is some metadata, which cannot be encrypted, because the store engine needs to have some data to compare values. As an example the writing time of your data to the database is saved and used by the database engine itself. Also references need to be saved in a non encypted way. The service needs to know, for which receipient some data is destined. So in case of a security breach it would be possible for an attacker to see at what times you sent some information to another contact. But he wouldn't directly know which id is connected to which user.

If you have any further questions about the encryption, please contact us.

5. Deletion

You can request the deletion of your data via a short email to us. We will delete your data from our database as soon as possible.

6. Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive.

We use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

7. Google Ads

Our app uses Google Ads for presenting advertisements to you. Google Ads uses Cookies to remember you and show only relevant advertisements.

8. Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

9. Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

10. Links To Other Sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 ("Children").

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

12. Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
